Diane Dick is beaming with excitement! She is the first person in the International Model and Talent Association’s history to receive the lifetime achievement award twice. Diane was called to the stage by President of IMTA, Nancy Mancuso and presented with the award and a blue box from Tiffany and Co., a special gift to commemorate this milestone event.
Diane Dick has been a member of the IMTA since 1987, and has risen above personal trajedy and difficulties in her life to achieve some of the most incredible successes in the business. The only training center ever in the history of the IMTA competitions to take a complete sweep of a division of commercial print. Every person on the stage was a model from the Diane Dick Agency. Diane stood up and was cheering before they announced the winners. When asked why she did this, she laughed and said, “I couldn’t lose, every person on the stage is mine.” Her experience, enthusiasm, love of life, and genuine sincerity, make her a favorite with all of the agencies, IMTA members, parents, and most importantly all of her kids, as she calls them. All of her kids are very supportive of each other. There is a strong bond that is evident throughout this group.
The east coast event, largest of its kind in the world, is truly a world model talent search, as agencies from China, Japan, Australia, Finland, and of course the U.S. compete in front of Fashion and Talent Agencies, casting directors, managers, and scouts. Diane says, “it is a wonderful life, that I have been blessed to live. I have a passion for this business, and my models have been so brilliant in their careers. That is what it’s all about, helping people of every age achieve their dreams.
Nancy Mancuso, president of the IMTA said, “such success is rare in the modeling business. Diane has a great eye and she trains her models and talent for the real world. She just keeps on keeping on.”
July 18-25th is when Diane Dick and her models attended the New York 2014 IMTA Convention. One of her contestants, Kensey Williams was selected to appear on Disney Channel, which aired July 26th for National Dance Day for a dance routine. Cayden Morse, Kensey Williams, and Kimberly Laughren, all won top 10 in fashion print at the convention. Lottie Urschel won first runner up fashion print for female pre-teen division. Kensey Williams won top 10 pre-teen model of the year. Kimberly Laughren won top 10 in fashion print/runway, commercial print, and makeup competitions. Two of Diane Dick’s models Taylor Greene and Belle Feaster were asked to be presenters at the NY 2014 IMTA Awards Banquet. Several Agents are interested in the Texas contingents. It was a wonderful experience, Diane said. “Every model and talent that I took with me to the NY convention got call-backs from agencies.” You can expect to see Diane’s models in high profile jobs; we’ll be looking forward to it. Diane Dick Legends, I think the name says it all.
